Few learnings
"A problem becomes a problem only if you believe it to be so. And often others see you as you see yourself."
Fear makes us selfish.
Your childhood hunger is the one that never leaves you.
A situation is neither happy nor unhappy. It’s only your response to it that causes your sorrow.
Read it on amazon.
Palace of illusions takes us back to the tale of the greatest war which helped humans to overcome evil and establish dharma. We all have heard about Mahabharat, the war which took place between Pandavas and Kauravas and the seed of it was sowed back when Queen Satyavati asked Bheeshma to take a vow for lifelong celibacy.
But this book is not about that story, this book is narrated by the woman who herself later became one of the main reasons for war. Panchali as named by Krishna narrates the entire tale of her life and takes us through her entire journey.
The book made me wonder how in our entire life we get chances to express ourselves, we get a chance to speak, and we get a chance to fix things, but a little hesitation takes that chance away and brings lifelong sorrows. Panchali's life was full of such instances and how each and every important turn of her life was a result of a similar instance.
Each character played an important part in her journey, and the character which was most important to her was Krishna. He was there till the last moment of her life and answered the questions which she kept in her heart. The friendship, which was lifelong, helped her to shape her journey to leave a mark in history by changing it forever.
But it also discussed a character who was important but never was part of her life at least till the moment she was alive. Karna is that character who made some of the horrible mistakes which he paid for but a part of him was innocent who wanted a chance which he never got.
Definitely, the book is must read and I am thankful that I got this book as a gift, it truly has turned out to be one of my favourites reads or we can say that it has left a mark on me.
